How to make your own awesome 100% natural facial toner with Apple Cider Vinegar
Yet another idea I picked up from Make Up Alley! (Have I
ever told you guys how awesome this website is?). Read about MUA’s take on
Apple Cider Vinegar here.
Importance of using a toner:
So I have oily skin and toner is a must. Even people with
other skin types should also incorporate a toner in their daily skin care
regime as well. Here is why.
Oily skin produces too much oil as it is. When you wash your
face, it changes the ph balance of your skin thus leads to even more oil. The
more you wash, the more oil it will produce. Sounds counter-productive, I know,
but this is how it is. This is why toner is so important. It restores the ph
balance of your skin, and the oil production will be back to normal again. It
will be extremely helpful for people with oily skin who suffers from regular
breakouts, acne, pimples etc.
Same principle applies for people with other skin types. Yes
your skin may not get oily due to the change of ph balance but the ph balance
changes nevertheless. And that can be dangerous for your skin. The more you
age, the more hard it gets for your skin to restore the ph balance regularly.
So if you are in your early 30s, start using a toner already! (link )
Disturbed ph level is one of the main reasons for fine lines
and wrinkles. Use toner to avoid them and ensure healthier looking skin.
When you are using a face wash/gel/cleansing milk/ soap to
wash your face, it will leave a small amount of residue on your face. A toner
will take care of these residues. So whatever your skin type is, if you are
experiencing breakout, rash, redness after you wash your skin, try a toner.
Toners play an important role in cell turnover process.
It will help with the application of other product. Applying moisturizer
or anything else after toner is way easier and will most definitely ensure
better absorption. (link)
So now that you know the importance of using a toner, start
using one. You can opt for any commercially produced toner. You can also make
your own homemade do-it-yourself facial toner using apple cider vinegar.
Why use apple cider vinegar:
So you already know the benefits of using a facial toner.
Now, if you use this DIY apple cider vinegar as your toner you will get even
more added benefits. For example:
It is all natural, so you are not putting who-knows-what
chemicals on your skin. (Ever heard of paraben?)
Apple cider vinger or ACV is slightly acidic in natural. So
along with restoring your ph balance, it will also serve as an AHA (Alpha
Hydrochloric acid) face masks. That is, regular use will ensure a brighter and
even looking skin.
This toner does wonder but sun burns. If your face is tanned
due to sun, it will remove it with time. I am speaking from personal
experience.
It will also fade different kind of light scars.
Due to having Alpha Hydrochloric acid and Amino Acid, it
will help to exfoliate dead skin.
It will help preventing skin breakouts, pimples and acne.
It really helps to minimize the pores. I can personally
vouch that.
Sounds too good to be true, right? I assure you its not,

So now that you know all about toners and apple cider toners
lets proceed with how you can make one.
Step-1: Get an apple cider vinegar. Duh. I am using Heinz Apple Cider Vinegar but
really, any apple cider vinegar will do. If you can find an organic one, it
will be best.
Step-2: You will also need pure edible water. The quantity
will depend on your skin type. Do not use mineral water though, just plain Distilled water.
Take out your measuring cup. Make sure both your water and
apple cider vinegar is in room temperature.
If you have oily skin, take one part apple cider vinegar and
one part water.
Or: if you have normal or mixed skin take one part apple
cider vinegar and two part water
Or: or if you have dry or sensitive skin take one part apple
cider vinegar and three part water.
Step- 3: Put it in a spray bottle. Shake well before use. Your
home made miracle toner is ready to use.
Alternatively you can substitute the plain water with witch
hazel, rose water, green tea etc if you want to.
This toner will keep for at least one month. So do not make a
big batch. Before you go ahead and put this on your skin, do a patch test on
your feet first. If no allergic reaction
whatsoever go ahead and start using it .

I am not a chemist, dermatologist, beautician or any kind of pro. I am not even a reviewer. I am just a software developer who has an obsession with impulsive shopping. All the reviews posted here are my personal opinions.. All the tutorials/DIY stuff are tested by me. Use at your own risk...and most importantly, pay attention. Do not try stuff for oily skin if you have a dry one. Do a patch test for allergy. Research everything.... Ask questions. Be Smart. I will take no responsibility whatsoever for anything that happened/ supposed to happen/or did not happen to you/your skin/hair/life.

Why use distilled water and not mineral water?
